Berlin is a cultural and artistic capital! Where a lot of events happen, a lot of people work in creative areas, a lot of people get together and where a lot of different nationalities and cultures interact and make this city a special place not just in Europe but in the world!
It’s in this context that DesignMai happens! This event gives privilegeto young designers that initiate their carriers very recently and have here the opportunity to show in this city their works to other professionals, press and public in general! At the same time has associated a lot of parallel activities in the city, like other exhibitions of renown designers.
For me personally, together with Bartosz, having the opportunity to participate in an event like this it was a great experience together with a great learning of how everything works in a Design fair! Since the beginning, when all the montage starts and all the designers meet each other, followed by the opening of the fair to the press and after to the public in general! At the same time I could visit other Design exhibitions in the city and have some contact with studios that have already a place reserved!
A great experience in general!
Berlim é uma capital cultural e artística! Onde tantos eventos acontecem, tantas pessoas trabalham em áreas criativas, tanta gente se reúne e onde confluem uma série de diferentes nacionalidades e culturas que fazem com que esta cidade seja um lugar especial não só na Europa, como no mundo!
É assim neste contexto que acontece a DesignMai! Este evento privilegia os jovens designers que viram a sua carreira iniciada há pouco tempo e têm aqui a oportunidade de mostrar nesta cidade os seus trabalhos a outros profissionais, imprensa e público em geral! E que ao mesmo tempo tem associada diversas actividades paralelas pela cidade, tais como outras exibições de Designers já reconhecidos.
Para mim pessoalmente, juntamente com o Bartosz, poder ter participado num evento como este foi uma grande experiencia associada a uma grande aprendizagem de como tudo funciona numa feira de Design! Desde o seu inicio, quando toda a montagem começa e todos os designers se encontram, se conhecem e falam dos seus trabalhos, passando pela abertura da feira à imprensa e depois ao público! Ao mesmo tempo pude visitar outras exposições de Design pela cidade e ter contacto com estúdios que já têm o seu lugar marcado!
Uma grande experiencia no seu todo!

Back to work in the workshop! Now we are starting to build the prototype of one module of the Tetris furniture! After deciding all the questions related to the concept, transforming it in a drawing with the dimensions that seem the accurate ones for the intentions of the object, we start the construction!!
De volta ao trabalho na oficina! Agora estamos a começar a construir p protótipo de um modulo da Tetris! Depois de decidirmos todas as questões relacionadas com o conceito , transforma-lo no desenho com as dimensões que parecem as mais adequadas Às intenções do objecto, começamos a construir!

We are now sure that we will participate in DesignMai in Berlin ! It´s great for the Studio and for me of course and it makes me very happy!!So, the organization of DesignMai had proposed to the studio to present in the exhibition some specific works… One of them it was just the structural concept of modular furniture Tetris. In that way I was given the work to realize this idea from the briefing of a modular structure with a specific shape. Let the work begin!
Estamos agora certos de que iremos participar na DesignMai em Berlim! É óptimo para o estúdio e para mim, claro, e faz-me muito feliz!!Posto isto, a organização da DesignMai propôs ao estúdio a apresentação de determinados trabalhos específicos… Um deles partia apenas do conceito estrutural da mobília modular Tetris. Sendo assim foi-me incumbida a realização deste trabalho a partir do briefing de uma estrutura modular com uma forma específica. Que os trabalhos comecem!

The functional prototype of the DUPORET rocking chair is finished and it looks very nice. It also works quite well after being tested to extremes by us. All do the weight of the person comes a bit to front more than it was suppose what makes it less comfortable because it puts more tension to the legs of the person, but after being tested by other people we realize that doesn't seem a big problem to the user us we thought it could be.
O modelo funcional da cadeira de baloiço DUPORET está terminado e com muito bom aspecto. Também funciona muito bem depois de ter sido testada aos limites por nós. Apesar de que o peso da pessoa tende a vir para a frente mais do que seria suposto, tornando-a aparentemente menos confortável uma vez que coloca mais tensão nas pernas da pessoa, mas depois de ter sido testada por outras pessoas chegamos à conclusão que não demonstra ser um grande problema para o utilizador como achávamos que iria ser.
